About Us - Our History
As President of Ray Hutson Chevrolet I'd like to give you a brief summary of our history.
Ray Hutson Chevrolet has been closely associated with La Crosse for over a half a century. It all started in 1953 when Green Bay Packer legend and NFL Hall of Famer, Don Hutson (my uncle) and my father, Ray, acquired the Chevrolet franchise for La Crosse. They originally did business under the name Don Hutson Chevrolet. While my uncle was a part owner, my father actually ran the business. In 1956, the dealership was renamed Ray Hutson Chevrolet.
Don and Ray Hutson took over McKenzie Chevrolet in 1953 and were originally located on Third Street in the current Wettstein Building. In 1957, we moved to the corner of Fourth and Cass where Eversole Motors is now located. In 1966, we moved yet again to our current location on Mormon Coulee Road.
By 1983, my father decided to retire and turned control over to me. In 1985, we added the Nissan franchise in order to offer a greater variety of cars, trucks, vans and sport-utility vehicles to our customers. Since we updated our automotive lineup, we decided a year later to give our dealership a fresh look with a complete renovation.
We have recently acquired additional adjacent property to our east on Mormon Coulee Road. After the demolition of the Holiday gas station, we now have added considerable additional display area on the highway for our Nissan product line.
Today, Ray Hutson Chevrolet Nissan is the Coulee Region's Automotive Leader with a Deep Discount pricing philosophy, which assures you of receiving the best possible value on your next new or used vehicle purchase.
